I think sometimes we forget that every hero has a history.
I sketched this several months ago when The Hunger Games Franchise was still pretty big. I am enthralled with the character of Katniss. Particularly, Jennifer Lawrence’s portrayal of Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games Films. In fact, the desktop background on my iPhone is currently a poster for MockingJay Part II (2015).
A lot of times in our fandom we forget that the heroes we grow to love have histories. The heroes in real life have histories too. Heroes are forged in hard times, through hard relationships, and hard choices.
If we desire to be heroes, we may have to face some forging ourselves.
